*Duties and Responsibilities* · Assess and develop long-term strategic goals for production databases. · Monitor database system details within the database, including stored procedures and execution time and implement efficiency improvements. · Monitor, optimize and allocate physical data storage for database systems. · Develop, implement and maintain change control, and establish testing processes for modifications to the databases. · Create models for new database development and/or changes to existing database. · Perform database transaction and security audits. · Establish appropriate business user database access control levels. · Create, or support creation of, required reports in response to business user needs. · Write and optimize SQL queries and stored procedures. *Required Qualifications* · Possess a B.S. Computer Science Engineering or related degree. · Prior work experience designing, building, installing, configuring and supporting database servers. · Experience with database structures and a strong understanding of theories, principles and practices. · More than 5 years work experience with Oracle, MySQL or DB2 enterprise systems. · Hands on database tuning and troubleshooting experience. · More than 3 years work experience with SOA. *Desired Qualifications* · Ability to conduct research into database issues, standards and products. · Prior work experience with Java Enterprise Edition applications. · Knowledge of data warehousing technologies and techniques. · Experience with complex distributed computing environments. · Prior work experience with Message Queue, SQL Database and JBoss web servers. · Working knowledge and experience on AS/400 and DB2, SQL Server experience is a plus. · Project management experience.
