Job Title: Web UI Developer/Graphic Designer 6-12 Months Positions: 1 Primary Location Columbia, Maryland Required Experience: · 3 or more years of experience in web application and GUI design and development technologies · Experience with design and development of RIA or Web Based Applications · Experience with SDLC and project based workflows and process · Experience with design and production of marketing and sales print collateral and assets · Experience with design and production of tradeshow material, and presentation slides · Experience with design and production of info-graphics, charts and diagrams · Experience with the following technologies: HTML/HTML5, CSS, jQuery, Microsoft Visual Studio Job Summary: The Web UI Developer/Graphic Designer works as part a team of software development professionals including software architects and developers, business analysts, UX designers, QA testers and project managers to create best-of-breed software applications. The Web UI Developer/Graphic Designer is primarily responsible for designing and implementing the visual appearance, look and feel, of the final graphical user interface (GUI). The designer is also responsible for working with business development teams, providing design and production of print collateral, multi-media presentations, and info-graphics to support the marketing of software products and services. Principal Responsibilities: Collaborate with teams of user experience designers and programmers to create styles and themes for web graphical user interfaces including: the design and creation of graphical assets and styles Apply interface design best practices to develop a highly usable system. Create and present design ideas for GUI styles, themes and visual approaches to peers on the development team as well as the product owner or client and lead collaborative reviews which result in approved designs. Manage and organize the graphical elements of the application GUI to maintain a consistent and standard UI. Work with User Experience Designers and development team with implementation of wireframes and/or prototypes into the solution, including the creation of mockups and or style specifications for use in a GUI. Create and/or maintain informational websites in support of the marketing of software and services. Create graphics and media as needed for the marketing of software and services including templates for MS PowerPoint presentations, animated media and video, interactive GUI prototypes and print media such as display booth banners and brochures. Required Skills: Knowledge and understanding of graphic design principles and best practices Knowledge of user interface design principles and best practices. Experience in using web design and development tools and languages including, HTML5, CSS and JavaScript Experience with Section 508 (accessibility) compliant UI design and coding Proficiency using design software including, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop Proficiency designing interfaces and interactions for web-based applications with Microsoft Visual Studio. Proficiency using presentation software including Microsoft Power Point. Ability to work closely with others and collaborate as a member of a team as well as the ability to work with minimal supervision as an individual on independent assignments.
