*Job Description:  *



As the Oracle Applications DBA, you will manage large mission critical
Oracle databases for a global user community;  providing support and
administration for Oracle E-Business suite 11i and R12.

 Working experience as Oracle Apps DBA is a must.
Strong experience working with oracle application R12 and 11i.
Strong experience in oracle 9i/10g RAC/non-RAC DB installation,
configuration and support.
Knowledge about core database concepts like wait events, performance tuning
and administration.
Patching oracle application and database.
Experience in cloning Oracle e-business Suite databases.
Experience in e-business suite Single sign-on implementation.
Experience in oracle application server 10g.
Strong experience in oracle 10g Data guard configuration and failover
concepts.
Strong troubleshooting skills for oracle application 11i/12 and database
mandatory.
Provide 24*7 on-call support as and when needed.


*Responsibilities*


Researching, recommending and implementing new technologies and
methodologies to improve current processes of monitoring, maintaining and
repairing systems and their operations.
Working with application developers, IT infrastructure team and other
company functional leads on database related projects, integration and
support related issues.
Diagnosing, isolating and resolving complex issues related to Oracle
databases.  Recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems
related to security and system access.
Performing system maintenance tasks related to Oracle ERP, ASCP, data
warehouse and all other related Oracle databases.
Performing database design, upgrades, installation (production &
development), administration, maintenance, migration, security, backup,
recovery, disaster recovery, cloning and disk space.
Working with Oracle & Data warehouse application developers, IT
Infrastructure team on database related projects, integration and support
related issues.
Partnering with other DBA's on the team and coordinate with off shore DBA
team.
Working with Oracle support to open, manage and resolve Oracle service
requests.
Meeting with other group leaders to research and resolve specific issues
while providing  the best solution.  This may include issues that occur on
a regular basis, as well as planning for future Oracle product
implementations.
Troubleshooting database and application issues, perform database tuning,
database instance cloning and other database upgrade activities.
Assisting IT leadership team in the development of a strategic IT roadmap
by providing suggestions on new tools, suggesting and implementing
standards & best practices.
Researching, testing, and recommending new technologies to add value to the
business.

 *Your working knowledge should contain:*
Ability to manage Oracle E-Business suite11i and R12 and other Oracle
related applications and databases.  This includes creating and cloning
environments, applying patches, monitoring performance, and
troubleshooting and resolving issuesas well as some Unix / Linux / NT
scripting.
Ability to perform Oracle Applications system administration functions such
as security, user and responsibility setup, management of concurrent
requests and processing, defining printers and setup Oracle
Alerts.
Ability to install, monitor and upgrade databases, apply patches and other
standard database support activities, including backup and recovery,
cloning and performance turning.
Ability to provide leadership and support to global user community and team
members on database related issues.
Ability to support corporate data warehouse,  be a part of on call rotation
providing 24x7 support for production database issues.
Ability to research, recommend and implement technologies to Improve
current business processes.
Ability to install and support tools such as Oracle Discoverer, ADI and
Noetix Views
Must have 5 to10 of years experience managing Oracle ERP databases,
E-Business suite 11i / R12, RMAN, BPEL, Mobile Supply Chain, OAS 10g /11i,
and have some Unix / Linux scripting experience.
This position requires the candidate to be on-call 24 x 7 as defined by the
on-call rotation schedule.
