Role Title: BI Report
Developer
Purpose of Role/Organizational Unit:
The BI Report Developer will work within the Business Unit and maintain a
series of regularly scheduled reports within the Data Warehouse. These
reports are predominantly in BusinessObjects Desktop Intelligence with an
occasional report in BusinessObjects Web Intelligence. Routine ad hoc
reporting is performed, as needed, by the Business Unit.
The BI Report Developer will be the primary liaison to the Data Warehouse
IT Team. The liaison will work on continuous improvement of the current
landscape and troubleshooting when there are issues in the delivery of the
reports.
The BI Report Developer may also have to create ad hoc repots using DWH
Data within Excel or PowerPoint Applications for use by the Business Unit.
Functions Performed:
The BI Report Developer will be expected to perform the following
activities within the Business Unit:
General Functions/Responsibilities
Create/Maintain an existing set of reports developed within Business
Objects Desktop Intelligence and Business Objects Web Intelligence.
Conversion of Desktop Intelligence (Deski) to Web Intelligence (Webi)
reports is a plus but not required.
Create new report layouts based on ad hoc requests from the Business
Unit.
Create Summary of Data Warehouse data within Excel or PowerPoint at the
direction of the Business Unit.
Work with the DWH IT Team as first point of contact for system issues
or enhancements to the DWH environment.
Unique Requirements:
General:
Must be self-motivated and able to work independently, consistently and
meet deadlines.
Strong business/technical oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated analytical ability and creativity in developing and
implementing plans and solutions for complex problems on medium size
projects.
Business Intelligence & Data Analysis:
5+ years of report development using the BusinessObjects suite of
reporting and developer products (XI R3 and above versions preferred:
Desktop Intelligence, Web Intelligence, Designer, Live Office, Xcelcius).
Must be Highly Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and
PowerPoint especially); Experience with the ThinkCell add-in for Excel is a
plus but not required.
Knowledge of SQL preferred.
Educational Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent amount of work experience in business
or IT consulting
