They will translate architectural/conceptual designs and/or vendor technical specifications to detailed technical design specifications. The Senior Administrator provides hands-on day-to-day technical support for Linux & Unix systems at an experienced level. The scope of this position includes mission critical support for Linux & Unix servers, all of which are located in Global Datacenters and Regional Datacenters. This individual will be part of a team that is responsible for the following operational areas: support, administration, monitoring, and troubleshooting, and participating in technology driven projects to enhance our service. *Educational Qualifications Include:* *Required:* – Graduate / Post graduate candidate from recognized university *Preferred:* ITIL Certification Experience working in large Data Center *Preferred Behaviors:* – Should have very good communication skills with leadership qualities – Technical Competence in defined areas – Ability to assist team in technical and professional growth. – Advanced project management skills – Must possess functional skills necessary to understand and manage project engagements – Contributes technical input for the architecting and designing of Linux and Unix servers. • Works on multiple simultaneous projects to implement new technologies and configurations • Working knowledge of WAN and LAN technologies including IP, Switches and Firewalls. • Conducts research, evaluations, develops recommendation and conducts testing related to emerging technologies; Develops partnership with Enterprise Architects and Architecture Review Board. • • Provide senior level support for x86 Blade, Oracle SPARC, and rack mount servers. •• Build servers following standard procedures and deliver them on time • Work with users to troubleshoot and solve operational issues. • Provide operating system level support to application developers and performing server migrations into the new datacenters. • Work closely and provide senior level support to Oracle DBA team and other application support teams as needed. • Responsible for coordinating planned and unplanned outages and potential recovery efforts in the event of system failure. • Manage operating systems and all components/services including Authentication, DNS, File Systems, DHCP, PRINT SERVICES, FTP, TCP/IP and others. • Responsible for deploying security patches to the server environment by following standard patching methodology • Provide enhanced performance tuning, troubleshooting and analysis. • Monitor system logs, activity and performance on all servers daily. • Utilize ticketing system to address and resolve customer work requests • Identify and implement continuous improvement efforts. • This individual will also provide “On Call” support on a scheduled rotation, or may be required to work a shift that provides operational support on Saturday and Sunday. *Required Experience:* – 8-10 years relevant experience on System Administrator – Sincerely, Karthik Resource Manager Pace Computer Solutions Inc.
