I hope you do not mind I answer to you both with a single email but
the argument is the same and the question is the same too... almost.
Thanks a lot for your time spent reading the patent, we work on 3D
audio since 1997 and it is very rare that someone on sursound
consider our work, I really appreciate your interest.
You are right and I agree with you, the patent is really "soft" and
in facts some countries are asking for clarifications, I think soon
we must do "coming out" :-)
We are a little company and more we are located in Italy, so please
understand us if we try to not reveal all of our technology, a bigger
company could decide to copy the main algorithms and we do not want
to do legal actions and similar annoying facts.
By the way, we use also a lot of public technics like ITD, HF
Damping, Doppler... Angelo Farina, maybe you know him, (he also
writes on sursound sometimes) came in Livorno for a demo two years
ago, and he liked how the system sounds, he said it is similar to
Ambisonic but with also the delays calculation in real time.
Our customers (mainly located in Japan and Italy) are really happy
with the system and I do not ask nothing more...
J?rn, I hope too that will be the occasion for you to listen the
system, if you want an alternative solution, I am realizing a demo in
DTS HD MA on Blu-ray and I will soon put the disc image in free
download. It is 3D-EST on 8.0, I use the C and the LFE as Lsh and Rsh
to achieve the "cube" setup. The demo are by Peter Gabriel, Brian Eno
e NIN, in order to let to compare easily with famous songs...
