Hi to my old professor, Dr Pickett (Surrey Tonmeister, 1982 year!) And to Mr Elen, of course (we shared an AES London discussion panel a few years back) I've finally got my 5.1 array of Adam A3x's + Adam sub working in my office in Huntingdon, UK. Driven from a MacbookPro with Focusrite Sapphire, Logic with the excellent Harpex-B plugin. I record (for fun!) using ST350 and Sounddevices 788T, often as sidekick to Tony Faulkner. Spent most of last evening indulging myself with a evening of Ashkenazy solo piano we recorded last year, me doing it in B format. As an intermittent but long term lover of soundfields, I go back to the original black card-frame version that Angus McKenzie had in the 70s. Then the blue-faced control unit version that Surrey had. Finally got my own. Top marks to Harpex for an excellent plugin. Yah boo sucks to Soundfield for their sucky AU plugin, which still doesnt support 64-bit mode. And now I need to order a few more A3X's to make an 8 speaker cube. Oh so tempting...
