Indeed.  Surround sound moved from the movie theater to the home  theater 
to the only thing that now keeps television alive as a medium (in the  
digital age) -- FOOTBALL!!
 
As someone who grew up in Wisconsin and, through a friend who was the son  
of the Green Bay team physician, sat on the 50 yard-line for many Vince 
Lombardi  era games, you really have to hear the NOISE to appreciate the sport.
 
It's just not the same in "stereo," so now Soundfield has found its natural 
 home in VIRTUAL REALITY.
 
Good for them . . . even if the money from television advertising has  
ruined the sport (yes, *both* variants of football and cycling and Formula One  
and . . . )
