i don't understand. all these sections deal with rendering of multichannel content by means of binaural processing, not the other way round. but they still rely on directional information in the input (e.g. a 5.1 set or similar). i don't see how the described techniques could apply to a stereo mike signal (other than, as i strongly suspect, pulling some sort of "spaciousness" out of thin air. yawn.)

besides, 0020 _is_ boring. 0021 and 0022 are a lot more interesting - if they actually pull it off. using directional bands and directional eq in a way that allows the user to trade spatial impression for timbre preservation in a meaningful way - that's neat. not that people haven't suggested it time and again (and probably done it silently for years), but a real product with a nice user interface could be fun to use.
