you could use virtual mikes or a decoder opimised for the Auro-3D layout, but don't expect miracles. there is scarcely enough information in a first-order b-format recording for 5.1 (so the center is usually left out), let alone for the nine discrete channels of Auro-3D 9.1. the problem is crosstalk between the loudspeaker signals - lots of phasing and coloration issues. advertising surround-zone and friends for 5.1 including center or even 7.1 is a bit dishonest. you can either collect 9.1 atmo by widely spaced microphones for additional decorrelation and/or use highly directional capsules, or derive it from a HOA recording, which you would create in much the same way.
