A second thought:

I may be the only person tired of 'faffing about' with computers (and who
hates WIMP, especially mice ...) but if you have no sound card (i.e. a
Motu) yet, it may in the end be cheaper:

-to cook the speaker feed files on a computer
-save them to portable media (i.e. SD cards)
-use something like the Memsolution WavePlayer8

It seems you can chain them to get >>8 channels
and they are only a bit more expensive than an ADAT-to-analogue box and a
lot cheaper than a Motu.
The down side is you are stuck with the 'menu' of tracks and cannot 'cook
to order' as you can on a computer-

Hands up ... I've no experience of this, my Waveplayer is in the post on
the German/French border ... so experience is to come !
