This is  a translation of the positions’ description:

 

“Project scope: 

 

Development of a mobile application for controlling the sound of a novel type 
of virtual reality headphones. This includes the implementation of a mobile 
audio player, of means for headphone sound optimization and (binaural and 
potentially interactive) spatial audio effects. Moreover, a battery-powered 
wireless headset prototype is to be set up featuring (a) wireless audio 
connection, (b)  wireless solution for real-time head orientation tracking, and 
(c) means for collection/analysis of user movement data. The project is suited 
to be conducted as a PhD thesis under supervision of the chair of audio 
communication.

 

Requirements:

 

Successful completion of a scientific or technical university degree (Master or 
equivalent ) in, for example, physics, computer science or electrical 
engineering with knowledge in the field of audio signal processing and acoustic 
measurements. Experience with implementation of mobile (audio) applications for 
iOS. 

 

Additional Information:

 

This project includes a cooperation with two industrial partners (a loudspeaker 
developer and a mechanical engineering company) and is funded by the German 
Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy.”
