I agree it's non-sense to call that system WFS. But I do think it could be
an improvement for many listeners. I sometimes think it's useful to think
of a spectrum between stereo and WFS. Even 5.1 with a center channel is a
step along that spectrum compared to depending entirely on phantom images
in stereo.

But I do wish they would discuss it honestly. I also wonder about the
'rendering algorithm' if it is up-mixing from stereo.
