Well, what I like about Windows is then usually when you configure
a new device, then its configure-once run-almost-everywhere.
Programs just extract the config data for each device from Windows
instead of setting it up for each program separetly.
However, one of the side effect that I extremly do not like is the
Registry. Its HUGE, and after you install programs such as Office
which do alot of modifications for it, it just impossible for the
typical human being to understand. I prefered it more when it was
all done using .INI files in Windows 3.11, as you could etleast use
a normal text editor for that..
Here's a challenge for you people. Lets pretend that MS decided to
listen to our advice on what we believe would be better then the
Registry. What would you suggest them to do?
(And I know that we most of us would prefer not to give suggestions
to MS, but this is just away to get your opinion for do you think
would be a good replacement for the monster called Registry.)
