Are you installing this product from floppy disks?
If you are, there is another dimension to the problem.
When you install (some) software from diskettes, it
writes back some of the install information to the
diskette. It now "knows" what it did, where it put
the files, etc., and if you undo EVERYTHING on the
hard disk and try to reinstall it, the setup
program looks at its own private "log" data and
looks for its files on the system. What?? They're
gone? They "tampered" with my "security resources!"
The only way around this is to make EXACT binary
images of the original floppies and install ONLY
from the copies. I use CopyQM for this. It's a
DOS product, but will copy any floppy (including
the Windows 1.66mb DMF (distribution media format)
diskettes.
I have a shareware copy. If anyone is interested,
