It used to be like that in Sweden until quite recently. I have not seen any
instructions for DOS, but my first ISP
Algonet/Telenordia suddenly put up detailed instructions for OS/2 and Linux (including
prepared scripts to
download) , SBBS also has detailed instructions for OS/2 and Linux, Utfors says the
only can give support for
Win and Mac (Macintosh is still widely in use in Sweden), but if I remember correctly,
they also have
instructions for other systems. Some of the ISP also give instructions for Amiga.

I think the new interest in other systems than Windows is a result of disbelief in the
next generation of
M$-products. "Everyone" talks about Linux....

Personally, I have not managed to connect to the internet under Linux yet, maybe
because I followed all the
instructions for all the systems at once. Usually I use only OS/2 for that (with or
without X-Windows) even
though I found setting up Arachne for internet much easier than setting up Windows95
for the same.
