Hi Chrys,

Hmm, I'll stick a set of batteries in it then. I didn't
think it was worth while before. All I did was find a
compatible powersupply and use that. (Pet peeve: Why do
you always have to take the case apart to see which is
plus?)
  Anyway, if it will keep the files for a long time
when I turn the batteries off, then it's a great machine.
I got all the original manuals so much of the operation of
it is just a matter of RTFM. <g>
