By the way, I hear outlook express is also affected. I can't even get
mine to open, it crashes every time I try to open it, as do a few other
programs, also, I'm getting messages that "x" program is not a valid win32s
program, even though it's something I've been using all along. Directories
are rewriting themselves over to machine language. Damn, I'm frustrated.
I suspect a virus and may actually purchase antiviral software. Meanwhile,
I'm going to repartition, reformat and reinstall the whole thamn ding
again. Sigh. Wish I didn't feel so dependant on this system that I'm
afraid to jump into a new O/S that has no support or instructions to help
me learn and will leave me crippled and frustrated on my computer for weeks
or more.
On the up side, I'm buying another 486 this week. I'm gonna load it with
Redhat Linux and actually try to learn the system! When I have it figured,
this win98 is Going DOWN! Maybe I'll save a partition for it if there are
warez that i can't run in linux, but not likely.
bye,
Yolanda
