Hi, Pete,
Check in your Net-Tamer setup by selecting option B from the Reader
program's main menu, where you set user options. If your ISP accepts your
E-mail password as the same as your log-in password, Net-Tamer should show
that they are the same. Some ISP's for security reasons require each user
to have a separate password for log-in and for E-mail. This will be
especially true if two people will maintain a separate mailbox from one
account using the same log-in.

Check with the ISP to verify if this is so. Also, the mail server address
is usually [EMAIL PROTECTED] as in
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
Make sure this is so, too, because it could be different. There is also a
separate entry for POP3 and for SMTP, which will usually be the same thing.
One is for receiving mail, the other for sending your messages out.

The nettamer.doc file is quite good about explaining all that stuff.

I've set up Net-Tamer with two different ISP's and helped several people set
it up with theirs, and so far haven't run into a PPP service where Net-Tamer
would not work with the mail and news components of the services.
You'll notice which program produced this message.
Hope this helps a bit.
