As far as I am concerned, there is a program for almost everything I need. What I miss
are good HTML-editors and
imageediting programs I do not have to pay for (I hate digital imageediting, that is
the kind of thing I prefer to do in
the darkroom). There is a port of GIMP under way, and for XFREE86/2 (X-Windows for
OS/2) there already is one,
that is what I use to edit any images.
How many programs are there for Windows95? Several hundreds of Notepadsubstitutes,
that are nearly impossible
to differ from another, lots of other programs that are very similar to each other.
There seem to be a growing interest for alternatives to MS-Windows, it is obvious to
most people that MS-products
are rather bad. Linux is, as everyone here already knows, what is in the center of
attention, but I imagine that I can
see a growing interest for OS/2 too.
What happened to Windows98 by the way? "Everyone" was talking about it before it was
released, now it is
released and "noone" talks about it. Will Windows 2000/NT5 be worth the money and
trouble? I think, that I am not
the only one doubting it. (Everyone talks about Linux)
