The only problems I've ever had moving an 8-bit card into an ISA or VLB slot, concerned old 8-bit MFM HD cards. ( They couldn't keep up with the bus in an old 286 AT.) I've used 8-bit VGA cards, net cards ( IBM PC-LAN, arcnet, ethernet ), and oodles of multi-function cards in that situation. RIght now, I have a VLB multifunction card running in this machine's 16-bit AT slot...which is the reverse. ( HD/Floppy controller, printer port, RS-232, joystick, lightpen, cheese straightener, etc. - though I'm only using the serial and parallel ports on it.) - John T. -- Arachne V1.48;beta 2, NON-COMMERCIAL copy, http://home.arachne.cz/ To unsubscribe from SURVPC send a message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with unsubscribe SURVPC in the body of the message.
