Exactly!
  I just put a machine together for absolutely nothing. It
was a 386-SX16 with a monochrome monitor and 14.4 modem.
OK, so it ended up with an MFM drive, but the cost HAD to
be $0.00.
  This machine was for a friend who has no money but an
interest in e-mail and the WWW. He paid $15 for a year's
subscription to the local freenet and now he spends all
his nights doing e-mail and surfing the net throught his
shell account.
  I think this is amazing! ..... and I'm tickled pink that
it is possible to do this. <g>
