Look in your \WINDOWS directory -- are the .GRP files still there?
If so, you can simply add 'em to the [Groups] section in your
PROGMAN.INI file.  Use the next unused numbers.  Also add the new
numbers to the end of the Order= line in the [Settings] section.
The old groups should reappear the next time you start Windows.

(Wow!  You can fix Windows 3.x in DOS, using a text editor -- what
a concept!  Maybe they should add something like that to Windows 9x.)
