Caldera has given me permission to release the GEM/3 and ViewMAX source
archives under the GNU Public License. As soon as I've got the archives
sent to the web site maintainer, I'll announce where these can be
downloaded from. (Should be sometime this evening)

For this first pass, there will be the _full_ source archive to GEM/3
v3.13
(last release of GEM/3). The source archive also includes the GEM/3
System
Builder Kit. The SBK contains the sources to all the video and printer
drivers that were shipped with GEM/3. It also includes the sources to
the
install program that the binary package uses. The archive will include
the
required tools to build the binaries. (C compiler, etc.)

There will also be pre-compiled binary sets available for download.
These
can be copied to 3-1/2" disks and the install program can be run to get
GEM/3 installed. This multi-disk set is what you'd get if you build the
complete source tree, including the SBK.

The other product to be released is the GEM Resource Construction Kit.
This is used to maintain and/or create dialog boxes & such. This is
available as both a source and binary distribution.

I have one or two other versions of GEM in source form, as well as two
versions of ViewMAX. As soon as I have those prepared, (GNU license
added,
etc) those will become available for download as well.

I'll post in SurvPC the archive URL as soon as Gene will post it
in the Caldera DR-DOS list. Stay tuned! ;)
