Pippi, there are a couple of BIOS-enhancing controllers (actually there are
more but I only have experience with two) that will enable your computer to
"see" the rest of your hard disk. I've had my best results with the GSI Model
1C Controller, tho the Promise EIDEMAX isn't bad either. Often you don't even
need to plug the drives into the controller. Just the presence of the
controller adds the BIOS support to enable an older computer to recognize,
say, a 4 GIG EIDE hard drive. No Disk Mangler, no nothin'. Not only that, but
they add the second EIDE channel if you don't have one already, so you can
have a total of four IDE/EIDE devices.

Last I knew they were about $30-40 apiece (either model) and could be gotten
thru Insight Direct <http://www.insight.com> or CDW <http://www.cdw.com>.

Check 'em out. At work I upgraded a PILE of low-end 486's to low-end Pentiums
(enabling 'em to run Win95 and Office 95) with a GSI 1C, a 2 or 4 gig HD, a
Kingston Turbochip (CPU replacement) and a little more RAM. If you can't
afford a whole new machine but can afford a piece at a time, it's a good way
to go.
