I do not know about 10GB, but DOS 7.1 (Win95 OSR2) and Win 3.x, yes. I think it was a
matter of changing a
number in io.sys.

I found the instructions;
"1.Make two bootfloppies from Windows95
2.Make a copy of IO.SYS (from the harddisk)as io.2nd
3.Remove the readonly attribute and open in a hexeditor (on one of the floppies)

4.Find the offsets 131C2, 131D5 and 131D6 and change "04" to "03" and "74 EE" to "90
90" respectively.

The patched io.sys can be installed by using the sys command (sys a: c:), the original
can be restored the
same way.

In this way older Windowsversions than OSR2 will be able to see FAT32."

These instructions are for the Polish version of OSR2, I do not know if they will work
with other ones.
