I heard that AMD has a 15% market share of the CPU market. That's a
pretty large minority. If I had the money, I would get a K6-2 (or 3),
definately. As it happens, both my 286 and 386 chips are made by AMD.

In fact, one of my friends has a Cyrix PR166 chip and is looking to
upgrade his motherboard and get AMD.

The K7 looks promising, but uses AMD's own motherboard socket design.
This is a bold move, and may even catch on, especially if it lets
other chip manufactures have the specs.
