You are supposed to reserve some memory for the PCMCIA devices. I
don't have them off the top of my head, but they're in my config.sys.

ALSO!! I got this computer with MS-DOS 6.20 and Compaq Windows 3.10.
So obviously someones done the dirty on you there. I have since
deleted the windows, because I had everything needed for DOS [for the
computer] and on bootup, when you see the cursor in the top right
corner, press F10. You should then boot off a second partition, with
only setup stuff. [This partition is about 2MB, seen as /dev/hda3 in
Linux]

I have found the computer locks up a lot more without these memory
unused. I wouldn't mind a PCMCIA network card so I could connect it
to the other computers I'm hoping to network. This computer has the
fastest COM ports of all the computers I own!
