The cable I bought, a Belkin, is specifically stated to "be used as an
Interlink/Laplink cable... This cable has crossed "null-modem" wiring
design". The serial port adapter is also a Belkin. I got both of these at
my local Office Depot (together they cost $15.98).

The INTERLNK/INTERSVR programs from PC DOS 7/2000 should work for serial
and/or parallel connections. Do they only work for IBM Thinkpads? I think
not...
