Sorry Arnie, but the list server is just an automated piece
of software, so it can't tell if you're really you :)

The confirmation is there for your own safety.  Imagine if
someone forged your e-mail address, then unsubscribe -- or
worst -- subscribe you from/to any mailing list(s) against
your will.

There's also an (easier) alternative way to control your
subscription: Point your browser to

  http://www.egroups.com/group/survpc/fullinfo.html

then click "subscribe or unsubscribe" link at the list
server section, and follow the instructions there.  E-mail
confirmation still required, though.

Meanwhile, I'll unsub you manually on this online run.
