This was what I was going to suggest as I'd had that problem when I
upgraded my RAM (w95 tho)
my OS just went cattywhonkus on me and a formatted, clean install was the
solution I used.
Any chance the upgrade makes things too hot? Faster=hotter so mayhaps you
need to add another fan or more vents. Hotter means more crashing.
