Change the "Prepend" entry in Lynx.cfg - else you get the "www."+....
even in cases where is must not be there.

I suspect that DNSs react on that difference; found it more sure to use
the full and precise URL spelling (with "http://" included) to be
always working, while there are frequent errors without the complete
spelling.
