Try to find some X-server for DOS in http://www.simtel.net/simtel.net/ , I don't Know 
if they can run with these free packet drivers. I think yes. However you can instal 
linux on these machines, there is a interesting linux distribution ( mulinux ) that can
be put into a single HD 3"1/2 disk. It also have X-window capabilities and can be easy 
turn your machine into a disk less X-window client. Other interesting solution is 
monkey linux a small linux distribution which can be installed on existing FAT 
partition
and will give you X-window server capabilities.

Go to altavista search engine and search for mulinux and/or monkey linux.

There is a interesting website (it is mine) which page about how to recycle old 
surplus hardware. On first September more information can be found inside it.
