boB: i did what you suggested yet i am still unable to install...

it's no big deal... I mean i could easily download IE... but I am starting
to take it personally... after I inserted your lines to my autoexec.bat
file , i rebooted eventually and with arcn15rc.exe in my main directory
C:\, typed: arcn15rc.exe and the initialisation message appeared with the
/ symbol spinning real fast now, yet still hanging my system!  I guess I
could deltree C:\arachne then reboot with your lines then again type
arcn15rc.exe - It can't be my system as I can run all my windows apps...

sorry for the bother, it's just that it's just so frustrating! Thanks for
all the help so far.
