ATTN SurvPC FAQ contributors...

Good news guys! We will start our FAQ project shortly! :)

To facilitate this project, a new sister list:

  [EMAIL PROTECTED]
  (survpc-faq AT lists.spunge.org)

has been created at [EMAIL PROTECTED] (majordomo AT
lists.spunge.org)

Big thanks goes to Benji Spencer, the owner of the
very wonderful Spunge.Org (http://www.spunge.org/), who
generously provide free Majordomo list hosting for
survpc-faq.

If you wish to participate in compiling and maintaining SurvPC
FAQ, please subscribe to survpc-faq by sending a blank e-mail
to:

   [EMAIL PROTECTED]
   (join-survpc-faq AT lists.spunge.org)

Please note that unlike this list (survpc), survpc-faq is a
closed/private group. In addition to the usual e-mail address
confirmation, subscription approval is also required. Thus, if
you are a lurker on *this* list (or a web reader), please also
send a brief introduction with "[IDENT]" anywhere in SUBJECT
line to:

  [EMAIL PROTECTED]
  (survpc-faq-approval AT lists.spunge.org)

This will help us (listowner and/or current group members) to
determine wheter or not we accept you as a new member.

For those of you who already post suggestions under the thread
"Building SurvPC FAQ" (and even initiating a list-wide poll ;-),
introduction message is not required. But to join survpc-faq,
you still have to subscribe by yourself (nobody will be added
to survpc-faq mailing list without prior subscription request).

If you miss the original thread(s), here's an excerp from
survpc-faq welcome message:

-----
SurvPC FAQ Project is the first SurvPC list-related project.
It was initiated at early Sept 1999, as an attempt to compile
and continuosly update a comprehensive FAQ out of our lively
growing public list: [EMAIL PROTECTED] (Older PC and DOS
Internet Forum) http://egroups.com/group/survpc/fullinfo.html

The resulting FAQ documents will be hosted at the (future)
main SurvPC website, which already reserved at Virtual
Avenue: http://survpc.virtualave.net/, posted at known public
FAQ sites, USENET, and could also be mirrored on contributor's
web site.

As side products of this project, invaluable resources such
as related URLs, books, references, etc., will also extracted
from SurvPC list archives, and used to enrich the content
value of SurvPC website.

All contributors will be properly credited on the resulting
documents. Currently we are in the very early stage of
this project. Other terms, positions, responsibilities,
and organizational structure will be discussed later on
*this* [read: survpc-faq] list (NOT THE MAIN LIST).
-----

BTW, you might wondering why survpc-faq not hosted at
Softcon or simply at "free" add-supported sites like
eGroups, Topica, or Onelist... Well, Softcon's LISTSERV
Lite has very limited space (10 mailing lists max.), and
advs addy are frowned upon by most of you <g>. So, I
decided to find another *ad-free* list hosting that also
fully manageable via e-mail. And besides that, I'll get
Majordomo list management experiences as well ;)

That's all for now, folks... See you on survpc-faq! :)
