hmmmm. Rename the file to a .txt extension and open it in notepad. Then
you'll see what the "lucky" ones of us, who can actually accept
attachments, are looking at.

The rest of this is in no way directed at Mr. Hamilton, nor is it meant
to be read by reasoning, sentient beings wishing to keep their sanity.

I've been looking for an RTF editor for DOS. For info on this standard,
I went to its originator's website, http://www.microsoft.com . A search
of support and the knowledge base turned up the complete specification.
Microsoft has published it as an open standard, and I was able to
download the self-extracting exe file without trouble.

When I ran the exe to decompress, it told me that this program requires
Microsoft Windows, just as any open platform compatibility standard
should do, don't you think?

The addendum to the protocol (required to make these "open" files
readable by Word 97 and up) is published at the Microsoft site in the
RTF format specified by the addendum.

The RTF specification is available elsewhere on the web, either as an
RTF or Word document.

I've written my own text standard called Ying-yang Unbelievable Kernel
(.yuk) specification. The specification is available in .yuk format by
clapping your hands and saying, "I do believe in open docs, I do believe
in...." until it arrives at a theater near you. Not available in Great
Britain, as you'll be looking for the theatre.
