Hello,
I am having problems with a Fujitsu SCSI drive. It has greater that 1024
cylinders, and is about 1 or 1.2 gigs. I decided to low level it using
SCSIFMT (part of Adaptec's EZ-SCSI software). Now, when trying to use
Novell's FDISK from DR-DOS 6.0, it hangs at the end of creating a primary
DOS partition, using the whole disk. Adaptecs AFdisk works okay, until you
exit, and pull a directory....only 800 and some megs appears. Norton's
Speedisk shows the drive as partially full! The Fdisk that comes with
MS-DOS 5 doesn't create anything that is usefull (or accessible) either.
Did I mess up the drive when I low-levelled it, or was the drive going
bad anyways? It had sat for idle about a week, after constant use.
I low-leveled an IBM and it turned out fine, although, it might be less then
1024 cylinders too.
What other low level programs are out there?
Thanks,
