        There is a DOS utility, freeware, that I use regularly for splitting,
AND THEN RE-JOINING, large files (useful for transfering big files by
small floppy) called:

        AXE.EXE

        Can't remember where I got it from originally, but happy to zip and
email it to anyone who asks.
