  Hello Tibor:

I've suffered from the same kind of problem myself and have recovered
my data. I boot from a floppy. Then I wait for a very long time,
sometimes for many hours, or even overnight, and the hard drive
eventually spins up. Best of luck to you! Let us learn of your results.

Be prepared to recover your data as soon as the hard drive spins up.
The problem with the hard drive will most probably get worse, and you will
soon have to replace it. The day will surely come when it just will no
longer spin up, even if you wait 'til doomsday.
