Whoops I misread. I thought you plugged your neighbour's monitor into
your computer. Maybe you could try this, as it could just be a
connector problem.

I heard of a hardware virus once, to do with SCSI connectors [honda
ones IIRC] where has had all these problems with several different
cables and cards, until he noticed one bent pin all all the cables he
tried; and sure enough the actuall connector on the card had those
holes shorted.
