Just if anybody would like to know:

I found the solution to get MW to print to my STAR LC24-10. I copied
PRINTFIX.COM from the supplement disk (I'm using MSDOS 6.20) to my DOS
directory, starting it from the autoexec.bat. No trouble in printing from
now on. PRINTFIX gets DOS to skip the test to see, if the printer is ready.

That's it.
