I've had a lot of success running MegaMID V1.66 with DOS. It
can be run with a .MID filename at the command prompt and there
is also a sort of 'front-end' programme that goes with it. I
have a Commodore ISA sound card with wavetable and it seems to
work well enough with that. The ZIP file for MegaMID V1.66 is
299548 bytes. I could send it to you if you'd like it. There may be a
later version - perhaps someone else could report on that?
I, too, desperately need the manual for a soundblaster board.
The one I have is marked SB16 VALUE and I need to know what all
the jumpers do. I went to the Creative site but it's useless!
I'm always intrigued by your footnote 'make your own kind of
music'. I hope you don't mind me asking, but what's all that
about??
Best wishes,
Ron.
