I've noticed some out-of-orderness occurring, but nothing too bad,
in the digest form, which I receive.
It is not unusual to see replies to messages in the same digest,
though. There are a number of people who are not subscribed in
digest form, so they will receive messages sometime during the
day, as the messages are distributed. If someone who is not using
digest mode replies to a message before the time that the digest is
made up, then you will receive the reply to a message in the same
digest as the message.
I decided to subscribe in digest form, myself, because I like
reading one big clump of messages from this list. But, for other
mailing lists that I'm on, I get messages throughout the day. Having
a 24/7 internet connection has its plusses. :)
