Well, I have one of those free accounts, available here in Sweden as well
from http://www.gratisnummer.com or directly from the supplier's
homepage: http://www.vivanetworks.com

Faxes arrive via e-mail as MIME Base64-encoded attachments in TIFF-
format, readily readable by most graphical software. The one
recommended by Viva Networks is "Imaging for Windows" (said to be
included with Win98, and downloadable for free for Win95) from a Kodak
subsidiary, http://www.eastmansoftware.com. This program was originally
designed by Wang Laboratories.

You could also use this free fax number as an answering machine. Voice
messages will then be delivered as WAV-attachments to your regular e-
mail account.

I still don't understand, however, how this kind of service could be free.
Haven't received any kind of spam, yet.

BTW, if anyone wants to drop me a fax or voice message, my number is
Int. +46 8 598 19 248
