I rember someone posting some good guides to vi
Anyway : i though someone might appreciate these refferences :
Unix Guide : (Good)
http://wks.uts.ohiostate.edu/unix_course/unix.html
Also, the freeshell.org sdf public access system has a good tutorial on
using vi
Try freeshell.org or sdf.lonestar.org
And : I found UWIN when looking around the att research labs web site.
http://www.research.att.com/sw/tools/uwin/
"the UWIN package provides a mechanism for building and running UNIX
applications on Windows NT, Windows 98, and Windows 95 with few, if any,
changes necessary. "
Which, i found is a good way to get to grips with the ksh shell.
but besides : if you want to compile unix programs on windows, i prefer djgpp
www.delorie.com
Oh, and on the side note of the gadgets people carry (leatherman, etc)
I've got a variety of kinfes and other plier sets.
But, i don't think any school/college (i dont live in the usa)
would allow me to take them in, so ive often had to improvise :)
its actually quite fun taking apart your calculator in the maths exam :
especially when you see the looks on the examiners faces. (heh heh)
