Now that I've moved my peripherals onto a new fancy board I cannot get my
modem to work.
It worked in the old system, and the com ports on the new system work okay.
External Cardinal 33.6 voice
board is 5agm2 w/AMDK6/2 300Mhz, AGP video w/2MB VRAM, SDRAM of 32MB
all irqs check clear, got the same modem drivers and software as the old
system, but reinstalled.
Somewhere I heard that the newer UART chips may not communicate properly
with the older ones? That there is a patch for this?
yep, I've tried the modem in dos w/ echo AT and relevant strings. Nope.
Everything checks out but it still doesn't answer to the machine. Want to
find and try the patch if anyone knows about it.
hmmmm, now that I've got a new board, even though the peripherals are
mostly survpc parts, do I get kicked off the list?? :-)
Gee it's nice not to wait on the machine.
