FWIW, I have a technique that uses standard BATCH commands, which
works in MS-DOS and AFAIK DR-DOS. It can even be set to execute
commands every Friday (or any other day of the week) or once a month.
I use the beginning part of it in ZipHaste - the direct download URL
is http://hoody.virtualave.net/downloads/ziphaste.arj [16k]. This just
uses the date-getting code for the files it creates.
I saw it in a magazine and it works well, but I since deleted the
"once a day/week/month" batchfile because I longer needed it. If
anyone wants me to, I'll type it out again. It simply uses a small
trick to get the day and date passed into %1 and %2, and then uses
another trick with the 'for' command to manipulate these. Nifty
little program!
