G'day all,

Program Manager isn't affected. There are two patched versions of File
Manager available from my website:

FM for Win 3.1 -
www.dove.net.au/~fraserf/w31fman.zip

FM for Win Workgroups -
www.dove.net.au/~fraserf/wfwfman.zip

Both are under 100kB and were originally d/l from Microsoft Australia.

And for those of you who think the Y2k bug was just a big con job; I'm
aware of at least two businesses in my town which thought the same
and are now struggling to stay alive:

One is a petrol station and general store whose entire Point-Of-Sale
and Stock Control system suicided early on Jan 1 - not the best thing to happen
when you promote yourself as "fast service 24 hours a day". They
also ignored their bank's advice to upgrade their old electronic funds
transfer gadgets; now they can't take card payments anymore because
these died too.

The second business is a wholesale plant nursery who are now relying on their
staffs' memory of customers' orders. All of their databases destroyed
themselves when the office computer was started up on Tuesday morning;
activating several automated scripts and batchfiles which thought it
was now 1993.

But unfortunately my bank didn't believe me when I told them about the ten
trillion dollars missing from my account after Dec 31 :-)

cheers,
Fraser Farrell
