First it was my understanding that you are using win 3.1. if this
is indeed the case you must disable com 2 in order to use the
modem.
2 reasons. The internal modem is its own com port.
Windows 3.1 assigns com ports in numerical order.
and will ignore com 3 or com 4 unless com 2 is asigned to something.
Many dos comm programs (qmodem termware etc) will let you make
any assignment you please.
A configuration that worked for me was: Mouse on com 1
Comm 2 on the board is jumpered out.
Modem jumpers set to com2 irq4. Make same settings up in
control panel/ports.
The important thing to understand is that win assignes the next
port in numerical order.
Try using any dos comm program before you fool with windows.
RE: vga focus. On the inside of my goldstar monitor I found a FOCUS
FOCUS adjustment hidden behind another pc board. A small twist
of the control brought it right back into focus. (potentiometer)
