Clarence (on the Arachne List) was mistaken.
I use the 4 dos utilities (pdftotex, pdfimage, pdftops & pdfinfo)
with msdos 6.22 on a 486. They work beautifully.
There is no *viewer* for dos, but you can create a temporary ascii
file and use any editor to "view" the text.
